Social Media "Experts"

I was reading a post on a professional blogger’s site that was talking about measuring ROI for Social Media Marketing strategies. It seems like today everyone is an “expert” in this field and that just drives me nuts. There are, of course, incredibly talented marketers who clearly get the ins and outs of this new contemporary marketing strategy. My experience, so far, is that just when I think I am understanding and implementing the latest tools, widgets, apps, gadgets and backlinks, the landscape evolves and I am back to the proverbial drawing board. It amazes me that This works out well for me, as I love to learn new things.

My goal is to connect people to each other. To bring my clients into the party, help them engage in a meaningful conversation and inspire them to continue that engagement. Can I give them a formula to measure their success? nope. Do they experience immediate results to their bottom line? Of course not. Marketing is, was and will continue to be a long-term play. The manner of engagement and the depth of the connections and the value to the INDIVIDUAL is what means something to me and that’s what I help people understand.
